H.C. Andersen’s Bicentennial Birthday Project

The famous Danish poet/storyteller Hans Christian Anderson will be celebrating his 200th birthday on 2nd April 2005.

To honour his great achievements, “H.C. Andersen’s Bicentennial Birthday Project” was inaugurated in 1997.

With the cooperation of the Royal Danish Embassy, Andersen Centre in Odense University and the Andersen Museum in Odense, this project is in progress.

In this project, there are many events planned both in Denmark and all over the world.

And Bernadette Watts is the sole participant from U.K. in the “H.C. Andersen’s Bicentennial Birthday project”.

In connection with the project her works her works have been in various exhibitions in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and China.

She has also illustrated “The Wild Swans” in connection with this project, a large format full-colour picture book to be published by Shogakukan in Autumn 2003. This book will be published all over the world after 2003.
